GOD – God is the one and only true and living God. The Creator and
Ruler of the universe. He eternally has and will exist as the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit - and these three are one in Him.
JESUS – Jesus is the Son of God and coequal with the Father and the
Holy Spirit as a third part of God. He lived a sinless human life and
offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying
on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to show His power
over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will one day return to
earth to reign as King.
HOLY SPIRIT – The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son
as a third part of God. He is present in the world to show people their
need for Jesus. He gives all believers guidance and spiritual gifts when
they are saved to use as a witness to others.RESURRECTION – Three days after His death, Jesus resurrected in a
glorified body. In addition, all people saved by Christ will be resurrected
into eternal life.
VIRGIN BIRTH – Jesus was conceived by God the Father through the
Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary’s womb. Jesus became a relatable yet
sinless human through the virgin birth to fulfill prophecies about the
Christ, be present among us, and die in our place.
THE BIBLE – The Bible is the Word of God written by men through the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit and their personal accounts. The Bible is
made up of the Old and New Testaments, is full and complete, and can’t
be added to or any removed. It expresses to people the truth of life, how
to be eternally saved, and how to live as children of God.
SALVATION – All people are sinners in the sight of God and we can
never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. Sin
results in eternal death. We can be saved by accepting Jesus as the one
and only way to eternal life.
ETERNITY – People were made by God to exist forever. We will exist
eternally with or without Him. With God is life forever in Heaven only by
our salvation through Jesus. Without God is death forever in hell by the
condemnation of sin.
REPENTANCE – Repentance is the act of turning completely away from
our sins. Though we will never be able to live a sinless life, in repenting
we strive to fully follow Jesus and live by His example of a sinless life.
BAPTISM – Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of
Jesus. After we make the independent decision to accept Jesus as our
Lord and Savior, we are commanded to publicly show our new life in
Jesus Christ by immersion in water. Baptism does not save a person. True
acceptance of Jesus in the heart is the only way to salvation.
THE LORD’S SUPPER – The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of
obedience. Saved individuals partake in the elements of bread and juice
to memorialize the death of Jesus and anticipate His second coming.
THE CHURCH – The church is a congregation of baptized believers.
They are the Body of Christ. Each member is an integral part of the Body
of Christ. Spiritual unity of these members and use of each member’s
spiritual gifts aid in fulfilling our mission to spread the message of Jesus
to others.
SECOND COMING – Jesus will personally return to earth to establish
and rule over His Kingdom. This date is known only by God, so all must
be ready and help others be ready for the day.
